Like discussed in the last post, I am trying to complete all my Inspired projects. Here is project 2. I am tooting myself for getting it done! The class was taught by Christine Lazar-Schuler, a fellow Canadian and a super talent artist. She creates pretty awesome artwork. Her class was awesome and I fell in love with fabric and beading and image transfer. Totally cool stuff. I owe my new addiction to her or at least she enabled it and I just bought in. I love the result even if the stitching is a little wonky.
I am also posting a couple of cards I made this week for my two friends who had babies. Welcome little Charlie and little Reagan.

Inspired Project 1
I finished my first Inspired project today. Yeah to me. I have a tendency to have lots of UFP (un finished projects)laying around my house. This project was so much fun to do and I love the finished product. This class was taught by Jennifer Stewart, she is so sweet and I love the collection of supplies she used. The pictures aren't the greatest and you can't really tell that the project is finished with miniature lights. Thanks for the great project Jennifer - can't wait to see what you have planned for next year. Thanks for looking.

5 Things Making Me Smile
Took these pictures in my garden this afternoon. Totally love the one with the dress and crocs. I love spring flowers, they make me smile.
Meredith wants to have a penguin party for her birthday (in June that is, nothing like getting a head start). We came across penguin paper yesterday by Imaginisce and I just could not resist the yummy paper and beach boy and girl stamp. Super Cute. With Meredith off sick we decided to work on them and get them done. Aren't they cute!

New Obsession
I am not in need of another obsession but it just happened and I can't stop using it. At INSPIRED I bought some 4" blocks of really cool patterned fabric and I am using it in my card making. I am loving the results. I was blog cruising and Ali has a similar post today using fabric - I guess she was hit at Inspired like me. Glad I am not the only one.
My friend Jodi is attending a Favourite Things wine tasting party - each person is asked to bring something to exchange with the other members (take off of Oprah's favourite things). Jodi asked me to make a set of gift cards for her to give as her favourite thing. Super Sweet of her, made my day. Below is my fabric collection of cards. If anyone is interested in a card set to give as a Mother's Day gift or just a Mother's Day card, drop me an email.
My little stash!
Grouping of cards.
My favourite one out of the bunch.
All packaged and ready to go.
Totally loving this weather, being outside and playing. We spent the whole weekend outside cleaning up the yard, the shed(which had a squirrels nest)and the playhouse. The kids are loving it too - skipping, playing ball and just running around. I wish Mer wasn't sick - she has another bout of pneumonia. Hopefully she is on the mend.
Enjoy the sunshine!

Inspired
Words can't describe the weekend that I just experienced. It was truly amazing. Donna Downey and her husband Bill were the most fabulous hosts and they sure know how to host an event. They took care of everything down to the smallest details. At registration we got cool green Inspired bags, awesome name badges and inspired handbooks.
There were approximately 200 people and this made the event so much fun. You didn't feel overwhelmed by all the people and everyone got individual attention by the teachers and Donna and Bill. The event had such a down to earth feeling. The teachers Jennifer, Tena, Stephanie, Kal, Claudine and Christina were amazing. Each one of the them was unique and their projects totally inspiring. I will post some projects as I finish them up. I am going to finish them with my new friend Anna. Anna decided to join me on my adventure at the last minute. Although we didn't know each other very well before we left we got along fabulously. Too bad there weren't a few more hours for us to spend creating and talking. Throughout the weekend we didn't get much sleep but my brain wouldn't shut off and there was so much to experience. I didn't want to miss one minute of it. On Friday and Saturday we took a three hour course from each of the instructors and then at night we had a chance to do some mini workshops. My 2 favourite classes were the Art Journal that Stephanie taught and the fabric class that Christina taught. I have found a new love for fabric and can't wait to start incorporating it into my projects. For me the weekend was a chance to experiment and play - uninhibited, that I did. My art journal was something I would never have done and I am so happy with the projects. The weekend was all about meeting super cool new people and sharing our passion. I made some awesome new friends, Katie, Heidi, Susan and many others. I made a super cool connection with CD Muckosky. We meet up after one of the mini workshops and just started talking. Talking to her about kids, the industry, winning Scrapbooker of the Year and some many other things. I learned a new little word "STOP" and I so appreciate it. We played together and had yummy food. So much fun. I think that this post could go on forever. I will stop at that. I can't wait to play. I am so inspired. Can't wait till next year.

Gone to Inspired! Yipee!
I was like a little kid last night, couldn't sleep. Kept on looking at the clock. Maybe I was afraid I was going to miss my flight. Finally at 4 I gave up and got up. I am up and about getting my stuff ready. I am so excited. See you on Sunday after Inspired. To all my friends going to Scrapfest, have fun.

I'm IT, IT, IT
I wonder how many people can tag me. 3 is enough. I will do it.
Mindy
Sue
Tracey
Here are the rules…
1. Post the name and URL of the person who tagged you
2. Post the rules
3. Write seven things about yourself
4. Put the links in to your 7 favourite blogs
5. Name 7 people you are going to tag
6. Post a comment on their blog to say they’ve been tagged
Here are my 7 things.. I don’t guarantee that they are interesting.
1. I have lived in lots of different places - Hamilton, Preston, Hespler, Tavistock, Tillsonburg, Waterloo, Peterborough, Galt, Kitchener and then back to Waterloo. Waterloo is where I am going to stay.
2. I love to scrapbook. I dream about it and purchase lots of stuff but do little creating. I have created 2 layouts this year. This needs to change!
3. In a previous life I was the Marketing Manager at Unitron - a hearing aid manufacturer.
4. I love to entertain and have people around me. The scary thing is that my oldest daughter is the same. My mom always tells the story about me inviting people off the street to come in for coffee at the age of 3.
5. I hate doing laundry. It is one of my most dreaded jobs. Mostly the folding part.
6. When I commit to doing something, I do it full heartily sometimes to a fault.
7. I am super excited about going to Donna Downey's Inspired Event this weekend. I can't wait.
7 blogs I read… only 7 - I seem to read so many.
Ali
Donna
Work In Progress
Scrapping Turtle
Retrospection
Love Life
Tim Holtz
And all my scrapping friends listed to the side.
I am not going to tag anyone - everyone has been it!
Off to finish watching IDOL!

It is About Time
Okay so I am sick of seeing the dyeing eggs. I didn't get any great Easter pictures, and Easter is long over. I am ready for Spring and the snow is slowing melting YEAH!. I went to Mo's crop last Friday and had a great time. The company was fun and the Thai food was Yummy! Thanks goes out to my chauffeur! I had fun girls. I finished my second layout of 2008 - pathetic I know. Andy and I went to our curling closing last Saturday. We had a great time. The end of the curling season means that I get to crop on Friday nights again - YEAH for me. Normal kid stuff going on this week. But I am getting super excited about going here I can't believe that I am going. It is going to be awesome. I hope to come back with lots of great ideas. Did I say that I am excited. Only downside is that I miss Scrapfest. Sorry Mindy!
Last night was our monthly dinner at Casa Rugatino with my group of dear friends. I so look forward to our gatherings and am never disappointed. Love the conversation and the non judging fun environment that we do it in. Thanks A,M,A,J and M! This is the last one for a while. Two of the members are due in the next few weeks. Totally thinking about you Marnie and sending happy baby turning thoughts your way. (Her babe is not cooperating in the positioning department). So until next time - have fun.
