Look What We Did Tonight!

Every year I always feel that things are rushed around this time of the year. I feel that the most important activities get done just to get done. This year I have decided to try and make some changes so that this doesn't happen. We decided that tonight would be a good time to put up our Christmas tree even though it is not December 1st. The kids were so excited to put up the tree - they have been bugging me for a couple of weeks. I love how they get excited about doing these activities - their enthusiasm is addictive. They had so much fun putting on the decorations and listening to the Christmas songs. Avery said that this is the best time of year - being with family and doing things together. These traditions mean so much to the kids. I am always learning from them.

Okay I love white lights, much to the dismay of my kids. They want coloured lights. Maybe when these lights burn out. With over 1200 lights on my tree, I put it away with all the lights on. The white lights are not coming off until they burn out. Maybe next year guys!

Girls Weekend

Last weekend 6 of us left our families and spouses behind and took the weekend off. We went to the Oban Inn in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We shared lots of laughs and had lots of discussions that we were actually able to finish! We did some shopping and some walking and had some great meals. We finished off the weekend with lunch at the Strewn Winery (I took Andy to Strewn for his birthday one year and did the cooking school - it was a blast). It was probably the best meal that we had. Although I was still feeling a little under the weather - and still am, it just won't go away - we had fun. Thanks to my roomates for putting up with my coughing. Can't wait for our 37.5 birthdays! Wondering where we will go. Thanks Girls for the fun!!

RIM Rocks 2007

I haven't been able to get to the computer to write about RIM Rocks 2007. OMG - so much fun. Our friends Phil & Biz invited us to join them for the RIM concert at the ACC last Thursday. The Tragically Hip opened for Van Halen in a private concert for 14,000. Biz looked after every detail for us and did an awesome job organizing. The bands were so good and our seats were awesome. Growing up Andy's favourite band was Van Halen so he was super excited to see them. He was singing along "PANAMA" and dancing. Loved watching him enjoy himself so much. We were so close to the stage it was amazing. Andy kept on saying "did you get a picture". Boy can David Lee Roth really move still. He was swinging his legs like no tomorrow. After the concert we went to Flo Restaurant for the after party. The food was amazing and we got a chance to meet Gordon Downey. A night to remember. Special Thanks to Biz!!

Being Creative and Playing

Something has come over me, I have been hit with the creative bug. I am thinking and designing projects like crazy. Excited to be so excited for scrapping - does that make sense. I am just having fun playing with product. A have been watching this monthly kit club called Work in Progress and I ordered there September kit. It is awesome and I still have yet to use everything - needless to say that it was Scenic Route. For some reason I am loving everything the company has to offer. Once I get my camera back I will be taking some pictures and showing you the results. I just ordered the December kit so I am anxiously awaiting that and am excited about what's inside.

Ali Edwards is designing some really cool stuff right now. I love the advent calendar she made. I will be adding that project to my list. And I also love her clear album. I have one at the Turtle with my name on it. Just not sure what I am going to use it for. Thinking of the wedding pictures of the girls.

Donna Downey made a really cool fabric album. I would love to give it a try. I think that she used the Quickutz Revolution and Stardust font to make the letters. Okay so how crazy that I know what font she is using. SCARY!

Teaching on Saturday - almost a full class.13 in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. I think that I have 1 spot left. I get so excited to teach this class. Happy Thursday and get some product out and get creative.

Happy Halloween!

What a great night for trick 'r treating. The weather was warm and totally cooperated. The kids on the street had a blast, all dressed up in their costumes. Furry creatures and princesses! The dads took the kids out and the moms gathered in the drive way handing out candy sipping beverages. I managed to get rid of all of my candy but twice as much came home. One little doggy was out for 1 1/2 hours going up and down the streets. All the kids ventured to the Haunted Porch and some made it inside. I love watching the faces of the little kids as they come to the door. What a night of make believe and excitement.

At the end of the night when Avery came home she dumped her bag and started counting the candies. She was so tired she could barely get out the numbers "one hundred and fifty ten" was the lasted one she counted!

Now November 1st and my struggle begins with all that stuff in my house!YIKES.
