I Made Something Today

I have been wanting to use the left overs from my recipe album that I made. I am totally in love with the Spring Fling collection from Pink Paislee. This is what I came up with. It feels good to be using up this beautiful paper and the die cut sheet. Thanks for Looking.

Creative Time for ME!

Yeah, I created my first layout in a long time. Enjoyed it so much. Love this picture of Avery, I had to scrap it quick before I forgot about it.

I spent some time this weekend getting ready to teach at Girls Rock camp. Girls Rock is an awesome camp run by my friend Andrea. If you have girls between 5-12 and are looking for something for them to do this week or next, check it out. I am doing 2 sessions this week and 3 next. The name of my session is Recognizing the Artist in You! I am excited to do this but also a little nervous. I am doing the sessions with the older girls and we are making ATC. I have the supplies already and I am going to show them some cool transfer techniques. Can't wait to see what they come up with. I am sure that I will learn a thing or two.

Family Vacation

We returned last night from our family vacation. We try and get away around Canada Day to kick off the summer and relax after the crazy month of June. This year was extra special for me. We went to a place that I have not been in 20 years. It is a place that I grew up at and holds so many special memories for me. It was great because now I have some special memories with my family. Growing up my grandparents owned a fishing camp - Camp Mac Mac on Lake Nipissing. Each year since the time I was 1 my family would go there each year for 1 week and then when I turned 10 I spent every summer up there working with my grandparents. It played such a big role when I was growing up because I moved around alot when I was a kid, this was the one spot that was a constant in my life. It is a totally rustic and isolated spot. You have to take a boat - the Lady Mac for 45 minutes to get to the camp. The cottages have running cold water and indoor plumbing and fridges but you cook your food on a wood stove or coleman. The beach is beautiful and fun for the kids with great sand bars. The fishing is good and the landscape is truly breathtaking. Words can't describe my experience. It was a very emotional trip for me because I was remembering so much about my grandfather and the amazing person he was. The kids had fun and Andy had fun. I think that we are going to make this an annual trip. Can't wait till next year!

Happy Birthday Avery!

It was Avery's birthday on July 1st. Happy Birthday Sweet Girl. Can't believe that you are seven.

FIrst Day Last Day of School

Hard to believe that the school year is over. Both girls had a great year and grew so much. So proud of both of you. Congrats on a great year! Love ya.

It Has Been Awhile

Since I have gotten on the computer to blog. The end of June is always such a whirlwind for me. The last weekend of June was the birthday extravaganza around here. I have the kids family parties on Saturday while Grandma & Grandpa Ottawa are here and then on Sunday I had Avery's birthday party from 12-2:30 and Mer's birthday party from 3-5. I had 22 kids here between the 2 parties, baked and decorated 4 cakes, and made 20 loot bags. The weather held out for the most part and the kids were able to jump in the jumpy castle. I am lucky that I can rent it for both parties - 2 birds with one stone. Avery had a Wizard of Oz party - all the girls came in costumes. So cute. Mer had a penguin beach party and she gave the kids grass skirts and lais when they arrived. It is a fun day but crazy. Andy and I are always happy when the last kid leaves. For some reason I didn't get many good shots. Probably had something to do with how busy we were.

After the weekend we had Mer's special people picnic at the school, totally cute and then it was the end of school getting the teacher's gifts ready. I can't believe that it is the end of school already. It seems like I was just sweating about Avery starting Grade 1 and now she is on her way to Grade 2. Thanks to all the teachers that made Grade 1 and JK a great experience for my girls.
