Pirate Invasion Fun!

Had a great day today at the Scrapping Turtle Pirate Invasion. It was a Scrap Pink crop for Breast Cancer. Sat at an awesome table with awesome people. I actually got some stuff done - surprise, surprise. Introduced some people to Quickutz and they walked away with tools. Love spreading my addiction!!! Hannah and Lori did a great job - wish I could come back tomorrow. Thanks Scrapping Wenches for the great day!

Can't Believe it..

my baby's is going to school. JK here she comes. Mer's first day of school is today. She is not saying too much about it but I think she is pretty excited. Today she kept on saying that she was going to go down the hall to see Avery - we will see how that works out. When she heard her teacher blow the whistle she took off running and was first in line. She turned, waved and ran into the school. Gotta love that confidence. Makes me feel very proud.

Here are the photos before we left - she looks so happy!

Yippy - I have my first of many afternoons to myself. So much to do - so little time.

Wedding Day for the Girls

Both the girls were in my cousin's wedding yesterday. What an awesome day for a wedding. The wedding was so much fun and Sarah looked absolutely beautiful. The two of them looked so happy together and are a perfect match. Best wishes to Sarah and Travis.

I have to say that many, many, many pictures were snapped. Here are a few of my favourites.

First Day of School

Avery started Grade 1 this year in the French Immersion program. Hard to believe that she is in Gr.1. Where has the time gone. She was super excited to start and to be going all day. Mom on the other hand was the one that was suffering. One of the things I love about Avery is her ability to go into new situations without a second thought or apprehension. She got ready in the morning, put on her new outfit, packed her backpack and off we walked to school. The smile on her face just beaming. I was able to snap a couple of shots before we left but she would have no part in me bringing the camera to school. When we got to school she was so excited to see her friends from last year and all the kids in the playground. The bell rang and off we went to the gym for her to meet her teachers. The principal said a few words, the class lists were called and off she went. I did get a good-bye kiss just before she departed but there was no turning back to wave. My little girl in big school. Although the tears didn't drop they were stinging my eyes. All day, every day - kind of a big deal for the mom who has been with her every day.

Coming to a Close - The Summer that Is!

I can not believe that it is Labour Day Monday. The summer has flown by and our family has thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. We finished off the summer by going to Georgia for 10 days. It was a great time. For me it was total relaxation. We hung around in our jammies, went swimming and boating, went shopping, did a lot of reading and a little bit of scrapping. The kids really took it easy and had fun playing with each other. It was a great way to end the summer and we are ready to embrace the fall.

When we got to Georgia my mom totally wanted to buy a new tube for the boat - one that the kids could go on. So they bought "SUPER MABEL". It was a riot. It is more of a chair so the kids can easily sit on it. We had a blast. I couldn't believe that my mom was going on. She did and she had a blast. She couldn't stop laughing. It was so much fun watching her go on with the grand kids and seeing her smile. It made me happy.

There will be changes here this fall with Avery going to Grade 1 and Meredith into JK. Everyone is ready to get back into a routine. Me especially! I am excited for both of the girls and the adventures that they will have. They were so happy to get there back to school supplies. They rushed home and but everything in the right places. It brought back such fond memories for me. The excitment of going back to school, the newness of all the supplies, sharpening pencil crayons (they come pre-sharpened now)and the back to school outfit (always something too hot to wear on the first day back). I loved September. Hopefully this will be the same for my kids. Enjoy the rest of the long weekend. Happy Monday!
